Roulette

Roulette is one of the oldest and most well-known casino games in the world. Over time, many players and mathematicians have tried to uncover the secrets in order to increase their winning chances. Various strategies have been developed, some of which either caused losses or worked really well. Nowadays, there are numerous different systems, but the most popular ones are Martingale, D'Alembert, and Labouchere. Let's take a look at how they work.

Roulette Strategies

First and foremost, it is worth noting that none of these strategies can guarantee constant winnings. To use them correctly, you need to have a good understanding of the game and know the most advantageous bets. Additionally, some systems require a large bankroll. Nonetheless, strategies are an excellent way to improve your game skills and get closer to the coveted victory.

The Martingale Strategy

The Martingale is currently the most popular strategy for playing roulette. It is quite simple and is widely used by novices. When a player applies this system, they only need to follow a strictly defined sequence.

The main rule of the Martingale strategy is to double the amount of the next bet after each loss. This way, the player can compensate for losses incurred in previous rounds. Once the player wins, they should return to the initial amount to make a new series of bets.

Doubling the bet amount after each loss effectively protects against the complete loss of the money spent. Moreover, when the ball lands on a winning slot, the player can earn a decent profit equal to the initial bet of that series. In theory, everything looks simple and understandable.

Martingale is designed for equally likely events, such as even and odd, red and black, or high and low numbers. The strategy only works when the bet sizes are strictly adhered to. Therefore, you need to have patience and follow the minimum limits. Only in this case can this strategy help you win much more often.

To play using the Martingale strategy, you need to have a sufficiently large bankroll. In case of a long losing streak, the player must increase their bet in a geometric progression.

The D'Alembert Strategy

The D'Alembert strategy is one of the safest systems that can be used to play any version of roulette. This is because after a loss, the amount of the new bet increases not as sharply as in the Martingale strategy. This system is also designed for outside bets on equally likely events. It is desirable to bet on color, even or odd, as well as ranges 1-18 and 19-36. It cannot be used for dozens, columns, and the inner sector.

Using this system, you need to choose an initial bet and change subsequent bets to the established amount after each loss. After a win, the amount of the initial bet should be reduced by the established amount, and after a loss - increased. The essence is that with the same number of losses and wins, you will still make a profit depending on the bet amount.

The D'Alembert system does not require a large bankroll and will allow you to stay within the table limits, unlike the Martingale system.

The Labouchere Strategy

The Labouchere strategy is a bit more complex system than Martingale and D'Alembert. To use this strategy, you need to prepare a certain amount and calculate the duration of the game. The system also only works with outside bets. It cannot be used for betting on a single number and other inside bets.

Before the game starts, you create your own betting line and plan the desired winning amount. The numbers in the betting line are the sizes of bets, their sum is the desired winning amount, and their quantity is the number of bets.

For example, if you want to win $20, you can take such a betting line: 4-4-4-4-4. It is very simple and easy to work with. Next, you need to take the left number, the  right number, and add them together. The sum, in this case, 8, is the amount for the first bet.

In case of a win, you cross out these numbers from the betting line. After that, the line will look like this: 4-4-4. Then you take the next numbers, add them up, and get a new sum for the next bet.

If you lose, you do not cross out any numbers from the betting line, but add the amount of the loss to the right side. The line will look like this: 4-4-4-4-4-8. Again, you take the outermost numbers, add them up, and place a bet.

This process is repeated until there are no numbers left in the selected line. In this case, you can stop the game since you have received the planned win from the very beginning: $20. Or you can create a new betting line and continue playing.
